We’ve been searching for more eco-conscious and worthwhile ways to enjoy our favourite outdoor past times. 

With the Great Pacific Garbage Patch now containing 80,000 tonnes of plastic and being 3 times the size of France, we decided to start a journey towards an alternative plastic free future. 

We came across a vintage wooden crabbing line / hand line at a carboot sale, and found that the craftsmanship and durability of our find was much to be admired, compared to its plastic and mass produced alternative.

After many travels across India, we became aware and were inspired by the abundance of handcrafting expertise spanning across all industries, particularly in carpentry and textiles. We decided to connect with carpenters in Gujarat, the home of the largest kite festival in the world, where we also came across beautifully hand turned traditional wooden kite spools.

And so we launched Nibbio.

We are on a mission to offer beautifully made, plastic free alternatives for any outdoor adventure, that will stand the test of time and support craft communities along the way.
